Christian Merli racing the Osella 4C Turbo in Tuscany

Christian Merli is returning behind the wheel for the 3rd Trofeo Coppa della Consuma at Diacceto near Florence in Tuscany on Sunday. This is the first round of the Italian hill climb championship (northern/central zone). The Scuderia Vimotorsport driver will be racing the Osella 4C Turbo, the two-seater in which in 2023 he finished second behind Simone Faggioli in his 3-litre Norma M20 FC.

Christian’s comment
“I was very keen to get back into the car after the bad experience in Spain. We first went to the Wolf Factory at Gardone Val Trompia to get the seat made to measure for the tests and ultimately for the Pikes Peak hill climb in Colorado in June. We then continued to Diacceto near Florence to take part in the Coppa della Consuma. While we’re waiting for the European hill climb championship to start, we’ve picked this event, a single-session race on a 8.450 km track, to further develop the Osella 4C Turbo, which competes in E2-SC 2000. The track is medium-fast and very nice. It has two chicanes to reduce the speed. There are two practice sessions and just one race run. The car has a Peugeot 1170 cc turbo engine with about 400 hp and weighs 500 kg."
